“My first grant as a researcher was from the cancer research society back in 1989. It’s been vivital I have a very particular position as researcher. I developed and was treated for breast cancer. What this has given me is to understand from a close-up perspective what a patient goes though in terms of treatment.
It has been rather incredible because we are finding signatures that will now identify patients who eventually could develop colorectal cancer, which means they will be able to be followed clinically and avoid that they develop it.”
