From Amman to the ancient city of Petra, a voyage into the heart of the desert with magnificent mountains

Your crossing of the Wadi Rum desert environment starts in Amman, capital of Jordan. This city from the Iron Age is one of the oldest in the world. It is the gateway to the desert and to 9000 years of history. On your way to the ancient city of Petra, you'll witness spectacular desert landscapes made up of canyons, natural archways, cliffs and caves. At the end of your journey, you'll finally arrive at Petra, a city founded in the 8th century B.C., well known for its history, its buildings and its facades cut into the sandstone. A challenging journey through time that will take you to the awe-inspiring roots of mankind.

Participants will meet at Montreal-Trudeau airport and flight to Amman.

Meal and night on the plane.

Arrival at Amman airport, then transfer to Madaba at the hotel for a light meal and overnight stay. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, departure to Wadi Moussa (Petra) (2h30 transfer) passing by Mount Nebo, the story says that the mountain would hide Moses stele. Afternoon hike at Little Petra (Siq al-Barid). Superb hike until Djebel Garun belvedere overlooking Wadi Araba. Overnight at charming camp.

After breakfast, we go to discover Petra, passing by bedouin shepherd’s way, through the mountains and the emotion is indescribable. Wild hiking off the beaten track, we arrive at the high place of the Monastery, before descending to Nabataean city. Overnight at the hotel 3*

After breakfast, visit the pink city by the classic access, the Siq opens after one kilometer of gorges on the famous treasure (El Khazneh) guardian of the city. We soon leave the conventional paths to discover the wonderful city far from the crowds. Immersion in the middle of the Nabataean remains. Overnight at the hotel 3*

Early departure to Wadi Ram (2h transfer), where our Bedouin guides and friends are waiting for us for 4 magical days to discover their beautiful desert of pink sandstone and golden sand where lights and shadows play an interminable game from dawn to sunset.

Trek into the Wadi Ram. Between canyons, Sandstone Mountains and citadels of ocher-colored stones invaded by sand dunes, each slope is different, phenomenon accentuated by the changing reflections of the sun. Overnight in tent at the desert.
