The Jean Doré Fund was created by the Cancer Research Society, in order to fund research on pancreatic cancer – a disease afflicting the former Mayor of Montreal.
The fund support research teams dedicated to the detection, the understanding, and ultimately the treatment of this disease. Mr. Doré actively collaborated in the establishment of this important research fund for one of the nation’s most devastating types of cancer – one with a survival rate of just over 8%.
The former Montreal Mayor was proud to associate his name with this project that will contribute to scientific advances aimed at treating the disease:
“To give to research is a gesture that is both altruistic and political. I encourage you to do so. There are a thousand ways to change the world, and one of these is to extend the lives of those you love. This is what I hope that you will do with the gift that you will make."
