Vicki was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was a successful Professional Interior Designer and well loved by friends and family in her native Manitoba as well as in Ontario, where she and her husband Vince Haight relocated for work.
Vicki was actively involved for many years on the board of directors of the Southern Ontario Chapter of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario).
It was in 2004 that she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and began a journey lasting several years, with the loving support of Vince, her family and her Interior Design colleagues. Vicki succumbed to cancer in 2011, when she was only 53.
At that time, the annual ARIDO golf tournament “Tees for Two”, originally pioneered by Vicki, was renamed the “Vicki Woloschuk Memorial Golf Tournament”, in her honour, by ARIDO. Her good friend and fellow ARIDO board member Sheri Crawford spearheads this tournament, held each year in Southern Ontario.
Vicki’s husband Vince has decided to commemorate and celebrate her life through the creation of the Vicki Woloschuk Memorial Fund for colorectal cancer research in partnership with the Cancer Research Society.
You too can support colorectal cancer research by participating in the ARIDO “Vicki Woloschuk Memorial Golf Tournament” in Southern Ontario. Other activities are being planned as well, and this space will be updated as they develop.
Even if you can’t join us in Southern Ontario, you can still make your gift in memory of Vicki right here, as this Fund will be available to receive donations year round.
Help us save lives and make a difference for colorectal cancer research.Every gift received will be matched by the Cancer Research Society for the awarding of new grants to some of the country’s best researchers in the field.
